Is it possible to just put all the selected smilies on this page and just do away with the 'view more' button? Perhaps move the font color bar up with the other font choices and/or narrow the width of the message box? Since I have diddly notion what's involved I don't know how practical this is but you have already implied that this is all you want to put on, so why not accomodate them right here?

This may be a good idea seeing as some have a problem adding emotes into the message box. I've already got the bulk of them showing as it is.

We'll have to ask the code guru what, if any problems could arise.

By that I'm assuming you mean space on the page to write your message? If that's the case then yeah I noticed that too.

There are approximately 100 emotes with about 70 displayed currently without having to click the 'view more smilies' link.

So the question begs, how important is it to see all smilies? This may or may not be crucial, unless you're one of the people having problems with smilie display.

How necessary is it that they display as large as they do? Is there a technical issue with having the Yield sign and other large icons display as small as the standard smilies and still show at size in the post?

How many more could you get in if the heading 'Smilies' wasn't there? How many people look at that and go, "Is THAT what those are?!" Ditto the space recovered without 'View more smilies'.

Is it feasible to rotate the Font coulour bar horizontal and place it to the right of the other font choices, or is that locked into the PHP software?

Just thunkin out loud... hm?

I'm pretty sure when they are designed they are done in a specific size. To change them one would have to redesign them. That's just a guess tho.

Not sure about the other items Steven would know better about the code.

One thing I can do, is move all the larger emotes to the 'view more smiles' option. That would save some real estate there. Or, if I added more smilies to expose, maybe not. ?>!

Who'da thunk smilies would generate such interest??

Ok, I've gotten this done. [;]

Now all we need to do is find out how many people are having problems loading smilies.

Tomorrow I'll download Firefox to see how it displays 'em.

Well on TB account, using IE6 when I click the 'view more smilies' link, I get brought forward with the smilies on the page and cannot add any of those listed.

I'm experiencing another odd problem on primary box too.

Now when I open the second window to get the extra smilies, I can click them, but they don't show up on the text box. Instead they show on the new window box, just above the box of smilies. <?>

Steven, if at all possible can you check this? Not sure but maybe the last mod you made may have buggered something up?

Installed Firefox tocheck smilies.

When I go to click 'view more smiles' I get the same thing as previous in IE6. Forwarded to smilie window but cannot add any of the new smilies.

Edited to move rant to Firefox poll. >><

I'm pretty sure it was working when it was just the default smilies (I didn't touch the code that controls those), but will look into it :)

Ok, in Firefox, I can either hit Ctrl to allow the extra tab, or not and get another window.

However, I cannot insert emotes from other tab as I can on IE7.
