Well, I have no idea what your specs are whatsoever so this is only a guess, however, the 1394 is a good thing "if you use it" as you have firewire connection.

I have been thinking about this bridged connection, do you have a wireless connection or do you hook to USB for your connection\modem?

Wait, I read back and you said you disabled DNS, then you re-enabled it, this is likely why , it didn't shift. Do you have a router? Another thing, a restart may have gotten rid of these for you too as the configuration would reset. Doesn't always but typically it will.

Running a Linksys router, model befsx41, no wifi no USB to connect to Net or anything else, no firewire either.

Go figure.

I disabled it, ran fine, went to bed.

Woke up, rebooted due to Power DVD freeze, then no Net. Reenabled, rebooted, still no Net, then found the extra connections.

I'm as puzzled as could be. ?>!

Running Port Explorer full time, checking all connections in and out and checking every IP alert I get from firewall as well before allowing anything in or out.

Tom, I think you have a hardware issue either way. A PSU going bad will cause all sorts of freaky issues, people think either they work or they don't but that's far from the truth, have seen many replace MB's thinking it was bad when it was a PSU issue. It could be many things but I would do a mem check, HD check and PSU check just to be sure. It seems "to me being on this end of the situation" that you are having way too many problems to be coincidental.

OK over 24 hours with no issues at all. Pretty sure I'm ok at this point. YHOO

Reboots are pretty close to, if not under 2 minutes. 1rokon

Sound is not quite 100%, but I'm thinking only way to fix that is to get a new card, and that's just not a priority right now. I can live with 85%. :P

The only things I didn't save 100% of were my favs and some of my canned replies to users in HJT logs. >)(

But that's no biggie.

So everything is cleared up then? Cool. I just can't believe how much trouble you had. Still, if you begin having trouble again out of the blue, I would do some checking. I don't know enough about your system, etc..but I would still watch that hard drive. ;) Glad it's working well now 1rokon

I just got into Alien Arena, I'm not a big gamer but it's pretty cool. Kicked my kid's butt. YHOO Unless I go up against anyone who knows what they're doing, then i'm screwed. psdot

Yes, keeping a very close eye on everything for sure.

I installed the kb software and got my few extra key commands back, like one for 'send mail' and added one to 'show desktop'. Funny how the little things make us geeks happy. t*u

It's an old MS Internet keyboard and I love it. I have 4 of them, so I'll not likely wear them out anytime soon.

Too bad my Explorer Trackball Optical mouse isn't available anywhere but eBay. >)(
