The latest edition of Virus Bulletin magazine has described its recently published investigation of 43 anti-virus products on the Windows 7 platform their "biggest month of testing ever", producing an exhaustive 27 page report examining the detection abilities of different security solutions.

Thanks for the info :) I just read that prior to coming here and it has helped me in deciding which security to move to after the new year. It was one of two brands I couldn't decide on.

I guess IOBit didn't make the grade, I wonder why, lol ;)

I think that they should have more tests for balanced decisions. I like to look at GarWarner's blog to see what is caught in the wild.

I quite agree as when I have looked about in the past, on different sites, the performance figures seem to flutuate greatly. Take CA for example, it can show under 50% on the chart in the initial post but I read (forget where now) that they scored about 60% elsewhere. Now if these ratings were in the 80-90% mark, it can help market a product greatly and may mislead the buyer!

VirusTotal seems to be the main evaluater that I can see but there are other bodies who also do this. Maybe they should put their heads together and adopt a standard to test so that we see actual results and balanced as you rightfully point out.
