Microsoft: End of the Road for Vista RTM

Microsoft said Tuesday that it is ending support for those users who have installed the original Microsoft Windows Vista installation, but haven't yet updated it to an officially supported service pack.

"Today, Windows Vista RTM has reached end of support," a Microsoft spokesman said in a statement. "End of support means that customers can no longer receive support benefits from Microsoft and will need to upgrade to a supported service pack (Windows Vista SP1 or Windows Vista SP2) to continue receiving security updates, hotfixes or assisted support from Microsoft."
