Watch TV shows via computer

Postby Mindblower » Sat Sep 27, 2008 12:07 pm

This year I'm following the advise from a friend and d/l torrents of the shows I'd like to watch. Find it less of a hastle then having to set the unit to record, hope the show is not pre-empted or runs later, and I can kiss those commercials goodbye. This way too, if I like the shows, I can save them and later burn onto disc.

Believe this is the best way to watch TV shows, Mindblower!

Thanks Mindblower!

There have been many good things said about Hulu also. Tho I think you have to watch some ads, not sure.

As much as it appeals to many, the comparison of watching TVs or movies on my 20" LCD to my 51" Plasma HD TV w\surround sound seems to pale for some reason. >>< rofl

Have you tried watching a d/l torrent show on your HD TV? I know many torrents are now u/l in HD, just not sure of the quality on such a big screen. Hulu is currently only streaming in USA, so I'm out of luck. But having a captured show, is like watching a DVD movie. You're not limited to being there, and I prefer to watch several in a row. Guess whatever works, Mindblower! YHOO

My TV has the inputs for connecting to Net\PC but I doubt that I will ever connect them.

Then my wife and son will be reduced to watching TV in the master bedroom, where there is only a 19" decades old color TV. rofl

They'd never get me out of the living room. And it would be dominated by the huge corner desk set I have, pushing the couches and coffee table out of the way. :P

Ahh to be single again.

Sorry, but that's not what I meant. D/l the torrent(s) and burn them to DVD disc. Then if your DVD player is DivX compatible (can play AVI, since most files are u/p in this format), you'd see if the show on your super bad TV set. I'm wait for the specials and purchase a 100 pack for about a two bits a disc, so even a temporary burn is worth the price, Mindblower!

Speaking of TV shows and computers, I just watched the 2nd week of Terminator:Sarah Connor Chronicles, which I had missed and now the 3rd week I saw earlier Monday makes more sense.
