The THOR movie

Postby Mindblower » Sat May 28, 2011 2:42 pm

Talk about another disappointment. Hollywood is making millions on the revenue of JUNK movies. The trend is for the old spaghetti shoot-em-up style, with blue screen magic. Even top stars suck on occasion, Mindblower!

I enjoyed this, but I don't know enough about Thor and his story to determine how well it followed that.

I have not seen Thor so can't comment there but Hollywood must be running out of ideas OR they feel re-makes are deemed less risk especially now 3D is the craze. Proof being the release of Jaws 3D. Yawn.

Ugh, please 3-D, what a joke. I refuse to pay extra for that though I've been tempted.

And yes, Hollywood has very little original material. Heck they were even talking about another Terminator reboot, and I thought the last one was great

Finally watched THOR. Typical special effects centered film with a poor storyline. It was ok but did not light my fire.

Did you guys see The Avengers yet? Thought it was great, funny with loads of action. Didn't seem to get to draggy either, seeing as it's over 2 hours.

By the Avengers, you mean the the 2012 movie staring Robert Downey as a group of super hero's, and not the 1998 movie based on the TV series of the same name. I've watched the trailer, looks interesting, plenty of action and tons of special effects. Might catch it later this year, after the DVDs come out.

Did stumble over Safe House. Talk about a spaghetti western style movie. Without a few excellent scenes and fitting lines delivered by Denzel, you'd think it was a Clint Eastwood movie.

This Means War is a dude. Best delivery comes from the bad guy, Til Schweiger. Read his bio, and wonder why he accepted this film (other than to try and save it), Mindblower!

Yes, the new version.

My Dad said it was ok, but Denzel didn't have such a big part in the movie

I beg to differ on "big part". It was a shared effort, IMHO, about 40% each for the two stars, Mindblower!

We'll have to rent it when it's on DVD
