Excellent TV Series

Postby Mindblower » Thu Jun 14, 2012 7:15 am

If anyone is looking for such an animal, to get your teeth the exercise they need (in place of mind), here are my picks (and they're all British). City Homicide, Silent Witness (still in production, Season 16), and Spooks. For light hearted family viewing, there's Murder She Wrote (which lasted 12 seasons).

I find it difficult to sometimes watch a new series without comparing them to seasoned shows. I guess my all time Science Fiction series was Dr. Who (first 6 doctors) followed by the original Star Trek with Capt. James T. Kirk.

There are plenty of other series that also make my top list, but there are among the top. And a kids favourite is still The Thunderbirds, Mindblower!

Two real classical religious comedy's are: The Vicar of Dibley and Father Ted

Then we have: Some Mother's do 'ave 'Em. And the best of all is: Rab C Nesbitt which will require a careful ear to understand some of the broad Scottish accent.

I am sure this will really appeal to many.

Finally you have a WW2 comedy called 'Allo 'Allo which should get many a good laugh.

Hard to control myself watching The Vicar of Dibley. Too bad it's run was short. Found little comedy with Allo, Allo, but maybe because it's dated. The Secret Army was another great drama (which I believe spun the comic classic). Not heard of the other shows, but that's due to only seeing what PBS offers us here, Mindblower!
