Skyfall

Postby Mindblower » Mon Dec 10, 2012 3:46 pm

If Skyfall is the lastest title in the 007 movies, maybe it's secretly telling us the sky has fallen, as in the latest Bond movie.

Trying not to give away the plot, if you could find one, this latest (and I hope it's the last) is NOT in the same league as the others.

I've heard it compared to the Borne films, but Spaghetti Western, best describes what I saw.

Bond is whitey, suave, a ladies man, a man other men take note of, a gadget user, and so on.

Skyfall fails in all the above. Yes, the action scenes are breathtaking, are refreshing, are new, but we not only expect this, we've been conditioned to expect this from each new movie.

It seems someone put a lot of ingredients into a pot, stirred it, and then tossed everything into a blender.

I'm glad I used coupons to watch it, not real money, since it's that bad, Mindblower!

I for one enjoyed this very much.

Loved the back ground of Bond's history(won't spoil it).

It was a bit long, but it went quickly.

I rather prefer Bond as a gritty ass kicking agent as opposed to the other more sedate some what goofy Bond.

I have read they want to get back to being more humorous, hope they don't.

Casino Royale was a great 'reboot' of the character and excited old fans and brought new ones into the fold.

Can't wait for the next one, hope it won't be as long as this was, what with the MGM bankruptcy issues.

Always interesting to hear different opinions. If we shared similar viewpoints, the world would be boring, for sure. As to Bonds insight, we got some in Golden Eye.

Many previous Bond movies were less of the bang 'em style, and that's what I miss. Though, those which sported the extra blood bath were my least favourites, Mindblower!

I have not seen it yet but here is a bit of interesting info. Daniel Craig (007) is actually scared of hand guns.
