UNIONDALE, N.Y. — The Rangers have carried different emotions off the ice at Nassau Coliseum — frustration, anger, relief among them — but they found a new one (joy) Thursday night when they clinched their third consecutive playoff berth with a 3-0 victory over the Islanders.

The Rangers (42-27-11) have two games remaining to determine their seeding in the Eastern Conference. They play the Islanders on Friday night at Madison Square Garden and at the Devils on Sunday. For now, they are in fifth place, 2 points behind the Devils.

The Rangers, have hard work and talent seemingly coming together at the end of the season. Goalie Henrik Lundqvist had his 10th shutout. The power play has scored seven goals in the past four games.

And Jagr is starting to look a bit more like the Jagr everyone remembers.
