A layout suggestion

Postby TeraS » Sat May 16, 2009 8:10 am

At the moment the program displays the spammer or not spammer message at the bottom, which I have to scroll down to read...

Mebby it should be outputted before the database result information?

Just a thought...

I'll have a look at modifying it, thank you :) (at present, the results are outputted to the page before the spammer info, so I'll re-write it so it's at the top instead :))

I've finally got some time to look at Coppermine by the way, and the following should work just fine :)

Open register.php

Find (approx line #223):

Code: Select all

    $email = trim(get_post_var('email'));

Add AFTER:

Code: Select all

   /// BEGIN SPAM MOD
   $ip = $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'];
   $fspamcheck = file_get_contents('http://temerc.com/Check_Spammers/check_spammers_plain.php?name='.$user_name.'&email='.$email.'&ip='.$ip);
   if (strpos($fspamcheck, 'TRUE') !==False) {
      // Notify admin via e-mail
      $blockedby = str_replace(' TRUE', '', $fspamcheck);
      $blockedby = str_replace(' ', ' & ', $blockedby);
      $msg = 'The following was blocked by the '.$blockedby.' filter<br><br>Username: '.$user_name.'<br><br>Email: '.$email.'<br><br>IP: '.$ip;
      $to = "your@email.addr";
      $from = "nobody@".$_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'];
      $subject = "Spammer blocked by hpHosts Spam filter";
      $headers =    "MIME-Versin: 1.0\r\n" .
      "Content-type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed\r\n" .
      "Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit\r\n" .
      "From: " . $from . "\r\n" .
      "X-Mailer: hpHosts Spam Filter";
      mail($to, $subject, $msg, $headers);
      // Notify user
      die('Your registration has been blocked by our <a href="http://temerc.com/Check_Spammers/">spam filter</a>. Please either try again or contact an administrator');
   }
   /// END SPAM MOD

I can't test it myself unfortunately as Coppermine just displays a whole host of errors when I try installing/loading it (they've stupidly ignored the regular PHP error level, and told it to report err - everything, which is silly)

Okay, ripped out their debugging code, and got it working, and the code above works just fine with Coppermine :)
