spam filter works again

Postby Peter K » Sat Aug 22, 2009 7:09 am

I needed to disable the spamfilter because it suddenly prevented everybody from registering to my phpBB2 board. Tom told me by mail it had to do with changed server settings at his hosting provider. Does anybody know if the problem is already solved?

Kind regards,

Peter

It's resolved yes :)

Please also be sure you're using the latest 0.37 release :)

Boy, you're fast... Anyway, great it works again. the filter saved me lots of time.
One more thing, it's been a while since I installed the mod. As far as I'm aware now, I only used the code from his page. there's no version number over there, or am I missing something?

No problem :)

The 0.37 version number I was referring to, is only if you're hosting the SBST itself, on your server. If you've got the mod querying the one on this domain (as in the mod example code), you need not worry :)

Please check you're running v0.39 as there's been a couple of bug fixes (you will need an fSpamlist (fspamlist.com) API key if you don't already have one as FSL now require one).

The SBST version number is shown at the bottom of the SBST web UI

Are you hosting the SBST yourself? (e.g. does your mod's $fspamcheck URL contain http://temerc.com/Check_Spammers/etc, or the URL to the copy on your server?)

Can you run the following (replacing {IP} with the users IP, {email} with the users e-mail etc), and post the results please?

Code: Select all

http://temerc.com/Check_Spammers/check_spammers_plain.php?ip={IP}&name={name}&email={email}

And post a copy of the mod code from your phpBB file.

Not sure. Will be away till wednesday anyway, but give it a shot then. However, I've got no new registrations for over a week, not normal... I've just temporarily disabled the mod
