Small little "Goctha's" that "Got Me"

Postby rarmy » Sat Feb 11, 2012 6:46 pm

OK, made a dir called "spam", uploaded the files, added all the API keys...seems to work flawlessly. Am impressed...

Couple of questions;

1. saving search, ok, first, after looking through various topics (had 23 tabs open, so got lost along the line...) saw a line to mod in config.php (I commented out old line and inserted new line vice changing line...)

Code: Select all

// Do you want it to create a text file with the results?
/* $bln_SaveToFile = FALSE; */
$bln_SaveToFile = TRUE;

// Do you want it to log results to a database?
$bln_SaveToDB   = FALSE;

Not brave enough for mySQL DB yet, so wanted txt-file...kept dir "spambots" (chmod 755)
See know place to "Save" and no txt file in said directory...missing something???

do I need to change this???

Code: Select all

// Where do you want it saved?
//
//   Default = PATH_TO_SBST/spambots/
//
$sSaveTo = dirname(__FILE__).'/spambots/';
$savetofolder=$sSaveTo;

gonna take this one "Gotcha" at a time...

sigh...as I edit this again...

Here off of root domain and the original location...

Welcome to the forums.

The text files are created automatically. However, you do need to enter the path in this;

$sSaveTo = dirname(__FILE__).'/spambots/';

Relative to the Spambot Search Tool location, so if the SBST is in;

{Root}/SBST

And you want the spammers logged in;

{ROOT}/spam

Then it should be;

$sSaveTo = '/spam/';

OK, made change to config.php

$sSaveTo = '/spambots/';
$savetofolder=$sSaveTo;

Resubmitted the spammer I found earlier this day...but still no txt file, (and I don't think the counter is working, either...)

Can you check pop the following in a new PHP file and post the results please?

Code: Select all

<?php
   if(ini_get("allow_url_fopen")){
      echo "allow_url_fopen available<br>";
   }
   if(is_writable("/spam/")){
      echo "Spam folder is writable<br>";
   }
   if(is_writable("counter.txt")){
      echo "Spam counter is writable";
   }
?>

It should display;

Code: Select all

allow_url_fopen available
Spam folder is writable
Spam counter is writable

Recieved:

Code: Select all

allow_url_fopen available

only...

folder "spambots" set to 755
file counter.txt set to 644

let me see what happens if make both 777

now get;

Code: Select all

allow_url_fopen available
Spam counter is writable

is there supposed to be a "seed" file in spambots folder???

made quick change to pop.php

Code: Select all

<?php
   if(ini_get("allow_url_fopen")){
      echo "allow_url_fopen available<br>";
   }
   if(is_writable("./spambots/")){
      echo "Spam folder is writable<br>";
   }
   if(is_writable("counter.txt")){
      echo "Spam counter is writable";
   }
?>

got result

Code: Select all

allow_url_fopen available
Spam folder is writable
Spam counter is writable

re-entered spam hit, still no file with chmod 777 to "spambots" folder...

There's not meant to be a seed file, no. The only files in there should be text files with spammers details.

Files are of the format;

{SPAMMER_EMAIL}.txt

Can you add the following to the PHP file you created please;

Code: Select all

if(function_exists('file_put_contents')==true){
  echo "file_put_contents is available";
}

p.s., got brave and made mySQL Database .. is working that way, but would like txt file working...I know it's something simple, just missing...

Thanks for letting me know.

It looks like the text files are working, but something is messing with them. I'll review the code and see if I can reproduce it.

No problem. If I can get my laptops keys to stop falling off long enough, I'm continuing to reproduce and fix this for you.

Sorry for taking so long, spent so long trying to get the key back on I fell asleep.

I'll be back home later and am going to get a new laptop on the way.
