MVP Logo

Postby Champion_Munch » Tue Apr 18, 2006 12:54 am

The MVP logo is a .bmp and it's a whopping 133kb, which slows down initial loading times considerably on dial-up (at 56K, it takes around 20 seconds to download just the image by itself). Couldn't you make it a .jpg or something smaller?

I have to say, on my dads box, there is not any discernible difference in DL speed. He too has dial up. But I'll remove the banner this week and then go to his place to see if perhaps there is a difference.

Thanks for the feedback.

Once he's downloaded the file, and it's in his cache, there won't be much discernable difference in download times. It's just the first time you visit (and any subsequent times after you clear the internet cache, which for some of us is a daily activity :P).

I have noticed it does load in increments and never did before.....I will send you some jpg or png files of it Tom. I have a program that will convert with no effort.
