Who is subscribed to update threads?

Postby TeMerc » Thu Apr 14, 2005 12:57 am

I have had some reports that users are not getting the alerts to the updare threads, specifically, Adaware and Spybot.

I would like to know if there are any more of you experiencing the same thing, for any threads you decide to 'watch' for that matter.

I just subscribed to all of them, to see if I get the emails.

Tom - I entered the "watch thread" on the updates, but have received no E-Mails.

It would seem I am not getting any notifications now. I didn't get the IE-SPYAD last night after we chatted about it.

OK, yesterday I ticked the 'Watch this topic for replies' on my test box user and have received an alert for each and every update thus far. Busy the last couple days with updates.

Has anyone else recieved or not received them?

Thanks for the feedback.

Ditto, I got a notice for this thread. Also for three others but none for the update threads I am subscribed to. This is a weird thing I was subscribed to the Spysweeper update thread by mistake and always got those. I just cancelled that sub, since I don't have the program.

 I just did a check on subscriptions and I was subscribed to SS&D and SWB but not AA. Still doesn't explain why I didn't get a notification for the two.

OK, I missed the last 2 update notices, from WinPatrol and SpywareBlaster.

I was talking to Blender earlier, she got em all. She also said it may be the ISPs somehow dropping the notices.

I would ask those of you who have accounts with your ISP, as opposed to say Hotmail, YaHoo!, or any other non ISP account, if you have a whitelist of any sort or whatever, to double check and be sure they are not being flagged as bad.

Just don't ask me how to do that.

Needless to say, all alerts come from temerc.com

This will vary immensely between ISPs and their mailhandling software. I can't comment from personal experience, as I don't subscribe to any threads.

Nope it's not an ISP/Spam folder thing for me anyway.

For most mail clients making sure certain mail doesn't go into a junk/spam folder is as simple as adding the address to a list. Hotmail calls it a "safe" list. Bottom line it is the list of addresses you want to get mail from and if you find something in the junk/spam folder opening it will usually clue you in to the procedure. If you look around on the tool bars there is usually a "Not Junk/Spam" button and then will be given the option to add the address to the appropriate list.

I'm subscribed to the MVPS Host updates and have been receiving the emails for the updates except for the last one on the 26th of NOV. No update email for that one.

Neither have I.... but then again it probably doesn't help much when I'm not subscribed to anything.

with regards
