Your Last Visit Was......

Postby TeMerc » Tue Sep 23, 2008 6:03 pm

Has anyone noticed if the time which is displayed in that section of the forum is off or not?

It's currently telling me the last time I was here was 8:29am1:33. which is now correct. It changed since I first posted this

Steven, any insight into this? Is it just a cookie thing, if I clear all mine out, will this fix it?

I've usually noticed I have to be gone for about 90 minutes for the time to change. It bugs me. Maybe we can tweak it.

Edit to change time

AFAIK, the time is pulled from the server, then adjusted accordingy depending on the users time zone settings. It's currently 4 mins out here (+4)

Oh, ok, I was wondering how it was done. Most of the other sites I visit don't require as long a period to adjust the time from you last visited.

As an example, hpHosts forum is showing my last visit as 11:35 am this morning which is about right.

And winbbs is showing me active about 6 hours ago, also about correct.

So I'm left to wonder what setting we need to make in order for it to at least be remotely correct. ?>!

I've actually noticed that the Great News forum has the same issue ........

Code: Select all

Last visit was: Wed Sep 24, 2008 3:29 pm

I'm afraid it's got me somewhat baffled ........ atm anyway
