Got an idea? See something we are missing? Incorrect?

Postby TeMerc » Fri Jan 28, 2005 11:31 pm

In your time spent here, please do not hesitate to offer suggestions on content, site design, or navigation. This is my first major foray into web developement and forum setup as well. Mistakes are inevitable, tho I have done my best to get it right.

So, please feel fre to drop a note below, good bad, or indifferent.

LOLLL. **@ psdot hedbngr < these emoties have been waiting the whole time! Ok, well I guess I can suggest something and not just because I do this stuff. So just in my honest opinion, the logo remindeds me of a gun and ammo site. Personally, it would be better "Just in my opinion" with something else. I also feel the black user bar above just doesn't fit with the blue\gray layout of the forum. Also, I think the view posts, etc.. should be right above the window and the "Moderators:" should go in a table above that.

Cheers,

Paul

I'm not too sure I agree about the location of black bars. I've also been toying with changing the background color of the forum, as I'm not too crazy about it.

However, I am very interested to hear what others think about the logo.

Maybe I'll set up a poll to see what everyone thinks then we can get some of you graphics folks to make submissions to see what type of logo I ought to have.

How's that sound?

I like the logo and background color is easy on the eyes.
But you can have more then one skin so your be able to pick what skin you want.

That's always a better way to go. Everyone has a different opinion and the joining of opinions can bring about the best result. chrz

I don't see anything wrong with the site, but since you asked for an opinion... might there be a chance you'd consider editing your css to slightly increase the text size for these tired and weary old eyes?

Thanks, would this be for the site itself or the forums?

The site itself including the forums. Text seems very small to me. But don't bother, I just increase the overall page (Cntrl +) and deal with the blurred images.

It's frustrating to hear someone having problems with small text. Very often one overlooks the Display settings (da what?). I've found these new (new to me) wide screens a blessing (less eye fatigue, better resolution, and the cost is down right cheap).

I used to play with font sizes in the past, so a monitor upgrade does help, Mindblower!

Yea, a monitor upgrade makes a huge difference. It's one of the reasons I upgraded to the HD 23" one I have now, I really noticed it. and seeing as I'm in front of the system 10 hours a day for the most part, it was a no brainer for me

Of the 4 computers and 5 LCD-type screens we have in the house, my main PC is the smallest with a native resolution of 1440x900 (wide screen nonetheless). I use this size because the monitor itself must fit into a specific physical location.

We also have 22", 23" and 25" screens, in addition to a 60" Sony 3-D behemoth we just purchased this week, but haven't set up yet because we can't find a non-gaudy wall entertainment center to hold it all :-)

I haven't taken a look from any of the larger screens yet, but really, it's no big deal. Cntrl + works fine for me!

With the exception of my laptop (wide screen), all of my machines are running at a max 1024x768 - no need for larger resolutions (and the monitors couldn't handle it anyway)
